Today is 22. 10. 2019, weather was cloudy and cold, +2 °C. We did tasks together with group 8.
Our task was to take 3 water samples, one from inflow to Pieni-Valkeinen, one from outflow from Pieni-Valkeinen and one from the ditch which leads from Pieni-Valkeinen to Iso-Valkeinen.
We had to measure temperature, pH, oxygen, conductivity and appearance and smell with field meters.
Our equipment for the task was bottles, telescopic stick for the bottle, cooler bag, sensors for pH, oxygen and conductivity. All sensors shows also temperature.
First we went to do our measurements at the outflow of Pieni-Valkeinen. (coordinates: 6977840.87 N, 533633.12 E) We put bottle to telescope stick and took water from the ditch. Then we measured temperature, pH, oxygen, conductivity with field meter, and appearance and smell by our own sense. We repeated the same measurements to Inflow to Pieni-Valkeinen (6977910.91 N, 533444.52 E) and Inflow to Iso-Valkeinen (6977840.21 N, 533785.96 E)
You can find results from the table.

Results from field measurements |
Results were pretty much similar, oxygen level at the inflow to Iso-Valkeinen was clearly higher than the others. We think that the reason is that the water was pouring from the pipe, which caused bubbles (see the second picture).

We put the bottles in cold bag for the later study at the school laboratory.
